The Dairy Unit In Brief

The BARC Dairy herd consists of 150 registered Holstein cows. Lactating cows are housed in a free stall facility that was constructed in 1994. All waste from the free stall barn is processed by anaerobic digestion that reduces  environmental pollution and minimizes odors. The Dairy Unit supports research on waste management, animal health and genetic improvement.
